About volunteering with us
Every Wednesday sees the Kent High Weald Partnership out in the countryside or local parks carrying out practical conservation work. We wouldn't get much done on our own, so the success of these days is entirely down to the fantastic efforts of our volunteers. Not everyone comes out every week, and some people we may only see once a year, but lately there has been a steady increase in volunteer numbers. Why not join us next Wednesday to find out more!

On any of our regular task days you will meet our core of experienced and friendly volunteers, who will help you to get on with all sorts of essential tasks, from handling a range of tools safely and expertly, to looking after the fire, or making the tea! Every Wednesday sees a diverse range of people volunteering with us, including Countryside Management students and overseas students looking for work experience. People of all ages and abilities are welcome, and you can expect to be supported by both the "regular" volunteers you'll be working alongside, as well as KHWP staff. This supportive atmosphere gives us the opportunity to pay more attention to overall progress, and provide extra guidance to those needing greater input on the day.

Volunteer projects take place in many locations across the Tunbridge Wells area, ranging from Local Nature Reserves to farmed land. All days run from 10am to 3pm, with a break for tea in the morning, and an hour-long break for lunch. Just bring something to eat, something to drink, dress for the weather and wear a sturdy pair of boots!
