High Weald AONB

We work in the Kent High Weald, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) for its rolling hills, small, irregular fields, abundant woods and hedges, scattered farmsteads and sunken lanes. www.highweald.org

Speldhurst Circular

The walk starts near the Pantiles. It crosses Major York's Road and heads west over the common, towards High Rocks and Groombridge. Follow the brown edged TWC Link Route waymarks until you reach the Tunbridge Wells Circular at Groombridge Place. This leg of the route could be undertaken using the Spa Valley Railway, who operate Steam Trains from Tunbridge Wells West to High Rocks and Groombridge at certain times of the year. Details on page 57.

From there, the green edged TWC High Weald Walk waymarks take you north towards Langton Green, Bullingstone and Speldhurst. This section of the walk is described in more detail in sections 5, 6 and 7 of the guidebook. At Speldhurst Church, take the road opposite towards Langton Green, locating the Link Route waymarks heading off in a southeast direction towards Lower Green, Rusthall and back to Tunbridge Wells Common.
