High Weald AONB

We work in the Kent High Weald, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) for its rolling hills, small, irregular fields, abundant woods and hedges, scattered farmsteads and sunken lanes. www.highweald.org

Pembury Circular

The walk starts at High Brooms station, and heads north through Barnett's Wood Local Nature Reserve (LNR). Follow the brown edged TWC Link Route waymarks until you reach the main route at the railway viaduct.

From there, head northeast following the green edged TWC High Weald Walk waymarks, through Somerhill and Tudeley, ahd on to Pembury and Hawkenbury. This part of the walk is described in more detail in sections 1, 2 and 3 of the guide book.

At High Wood, leave the main route and continue into Royal Tunbridge Wells via Camden Park, the Link Route waymarks taking you as far as The Grove. From here, it is a short walk down to Royal Tunbridge Wells station, and a train or bus back to High Brooms. Alternatively, it is a further 1½ miles (2.5 km) on foot through the built up area.
