4¼ miles - allow 2 ¼ hours The quiet back water of Bullingstone contains an attractive row of 15th century houses above step sides ghylls running through Burnt and Avery's Woods. The route then continues though the oldest parish in this part of the High Weald, Speldhurst. A worthwhile detour on this section is David Salomons' House, designed by Decimus Burton. The path the continues on to Southborough passing Holden pond and Modest Corner, before crossing Southborough Common with 100 acres of woods, grassy heath and water, a beautiful area and a haven for wildlife., before finishing in the Southborough valley.
