3½ miles - allow 1 ¾ hours Ancient woods, small pastures and steep sided ghylls combine on this section of the walk to provide classic High Weald countryside. Small traditional farmsteads are dotted along this section with interesting spring fed marshy meadows which suit marsh violets, bog pimpernel as well as mosses and sedges. This section of the route passes through the SNCI of High Wood, then Hawkenbury and onto the Nevill Golf Course, before reaching Chase Wood at the end of this section.
