Section Two - Old Pembury & Little Bayhall
4¼miles - allow 2¼ hours
Orchards and modern fruit farms are a feature of this section of the walk, as you pass Downingbury and Pippins farms in Pembury, both have farm shops selling a variety of local fruit and produce. Another worthwhile detour on this section of the walk is the Pembury heathland, opposite the pumping station. This site is managed by the RSPB where areas once planted with conifers are being returned to heathland. A 3 mile circular walk has been set up around this site. This section then passes the edge of Pembury village and across the A21 to Little Bayhall.
Main highlights of this section include:
- St Peter's Church Pembury
- Dowingbury & Pipins Fruit Farms
- Site of Keyes Mill, Snipe Wood
- Pembury Village
- Old Coach Road Bayhall
