The route is 27.5 miles long and is clearly waymarked so it can be walked in either direction. Waymarking consists of coloured arrows together with the route's own symbols inset onto posts around the entire route.

The official guide book contains large scale maps showing the entire route, several shorter walks, together with extensive background and interpretive information. The guide book is currently out of print, but may still availabe in local book shops or from Amazon
