These parent toddler walks are part of the Weald Forest Ridge Landscape Partnership Scheme which is a £3.3 million programme of activity, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, to enrich the area’s natural and cultural heritage.
The Weald Forest Ridge runs west to east, in an almost unbroken line, from Horsham to Tunbridge Wells. It is the highest ridge of one of England’s Finest Landscapes, the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is surrounded by eight neighbouring towns: Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Crowborough, East Grinstead, Crawley, Horsham, Haywards Heath and Uckfield.
Amongst the rolling hills of the Weald Forest Ridge are four great medieval forests, healthy open spaces, the South East’s only sandstone rock outcrops, historic parks and gardens, and ancient iron workings.
