Bright Sparks Forest School – Training

As champions of Forest School’s inspirational approach to learning and connecting to the natural world, we have made it part of our mission to spread the word. We aim to raise awareness through the provision of training for prospective Forest School leaders in the nationally accredited Ofqual RQF qualifications, endorsed by the Forest School Association.

Our training is offered one day a week for a number of weeks rather than in an intensive block. Our students have told us they love this approach as it allows them to take on board all the new elements they learn each week.

We provide all learning materials required including templates for Risk Assessment, Ecological Impact Assessment, site management plans and session planning. We also provide an extensive course handbook that covers most aspects of the taught elements of the course.

We imbue our training with the same ethos as our Forest School practice with a learner centred approach and sense of community.

We dedicate time within the training to look at the portfolio in detail to ensure that students understand how to structure their written work.

The trainers are available for 12 months from the end of the training for consultation, support and feedback.

Our lead trainer has over 10 years’ experience of delivering Forest School to a wide range of groups including Adults and Children with SEND, Families as well as children and young people and has been delivering Forest School training since 2016.

What our most recent student have said about us:

‘Straightforward and comprehensive training with a knowledgeable leader’

‘Such a good community spirit. Loved the cooking and sharing. All felt supportive informative and holistic’
