The High Weald Farming Story Project has built sustainable links between schools and farms, and has focussed on five urban primary schools in the Tunbridge Wells Borough.

Farmers gave school children a tour of their farms helping them to understand the complexities of food production in the High Weald. In addition,  both Schools and farms received a workshop on the High Weald landscape and the history of farming. Food growing in schools was also addressed by runniong a training session for teachers to make the most of the facilities to grow food within the school grounds.

The project has been a real succes and schools have since taken other classes to their local farms.

A Woodside Farm Explorers Pack and Farming Information Sheet were created and made available for teachers to download. The resources explain different types of farming and how the local landscape is managed for wildlife and the environment.
