The Kent Wildlife Trust have launched their annual Wildlife Gardening Awards Scheme for 2010 and we are pleased to announce Tunbridge Wells Borough Council are again supporting the scheme. For the chance to win awards, apply now!

 

The Kent Wildlife Trust launched their Wildlife Gardening Awards on the first day of spring in a blaze of sunshine.

The scheme is open to all types and sizes of gardens whether private, business, community group, school or other - in fact anyone can apply.

Each entrant is assessed by a panel of garden wildlife experts and gold, silver and bronze awards will be allocated. Each gold award winner will recieve a plaque to proudly display in their winning garden. Gold award winners are automatically put forward for the Best Wildlife Garden in Kent and a chance to win £100 in garden centre vouchers.

Other awards include:

  • Best Dragon Garden (i.e. for amphibians and reptiles)
  • Best Churchyard for Wildlife
  • Best School Wildlife Garden
  • Best Community Wildlife Garden (includes allotments!)
  • Best Balcony, container or small garden
  • Best Overall wildlife garden.

 There are extra awards for the Tunbridge Wells Borough only which includes best Urban garden in Tunbridge Wells (urban garden is where you live in a built up area surrounded by houses or businesses) and best Tunbridge Wells School.
